The Reiki shower

1. Sit down in gasho with spine up straight. For older people I suggest sitting down in a chair. Or for a large group to stand all up and to make a circle.

2. Close your eyes and breath in in a very natural and easy way. No special techniques are necessary, simply relax and breath.

Some people are scared to close their eyes for several reasons. If you as a teacher notice this, state that peaking is allowed ;-) and relaxation is the main goal. Most people are more able to relax with eyes closed.

3. All students including the Master place their hands in gasho - prayer position in front of the heart chakra.

4. The Master will let you know when to proceed : All participating lift the arms and hands - palms up - above the head and spread them making a ''bowl''.

5. Level 1 students :
Let them visualise that a shower of Light and energy enters their bowl from above. When it is filled the bowl becomes heavy and it will feel tingling and all warm even.

Level 2 students : Same as level one but before lifting the hands up into the air let them draw CKR into the air, then lift the hands up and repeat the mantra Cho Ku Rei 3 times.

Level 3 students : Same as level one but with Dai Ko Mio. Let them aloud repeat the mantra Dai Ko Mio 3 times.

6. Give the students the time to fill their etheric bowl, formed by the hands and spread arms in the air, till about 3-5 minuts have past.

7. Lower the hands and place them in front of the body, both palms facing the chest. The collected energy in the bowl will flush over the group, the individual student and Light will flow out of the hands into the chest - heart chakra.

8. Repeat this excersize if you feel like it. Let it depend on how the students react to it.

9. Bring the hands back in gasho. Stand up as a group and bow to greet eachother.

10. This is a great way to start a Reiki Circle (meeting) and a good excersize to activate feelings of compassion, greatfullness and peace (rest) before starting the hands-on healings.

This was the Reiki Shower excersize often done in Diane Steins courses. A lot of natives greet the sun in this way. But it is also a universal way to accept and to awaken the divine blessings. Acceptance, being greatful, positivity, surrender are keywords.

Reiki Shower meditation.

Can be done before the active Reiki Shower I just wrote down. Or after - to give restless students a deeper method to find peace and rest. Meditative background music will help to find a quiet mind and create a serene atmosphere.

1. Let al students take place in a circle or in rows as you as a teacher feel is most apropriate. Older people feel better on a chair, others stand in a circle. 3 minutes to find a place.

About 3 more minutes to explain what this excersize is about.

2. Let all breath relaxed and in peace - silence is important. Bring the breath low into the tan tien. If this makes it easier : Let them place the palms on the lower belly : tan tien. Feet a bit spread, knees slightly bend but not locked. 3-5 minutes. Guide the proces of course to remoove as much tension as possible.

3. Let the students bring their focus to the breating in the chest, in the throat in the mouth, in the head and higher and higher.

4. Give them the image of the sun that is shining high above the head.

5. Let the sun shine so all beams will shower down upon the faces. Make them keep their eyes closed and bring the face up to catch the sun on their face. The healing light will fall onto the face, shoulders, chest, back, belly, legs, knees, ankles, feet and flow over the ground.

6. All busy thoughts will flow with this Light into the ground away from your body and mind, into the earth to be transformed. Ask the students to think about them and let go with the flow immediately.

7. Now feel how the Light enters the crown chakra and fills up the body like a can would fill up with water. Love and Light will enter the crown, the head, the throat, the chest slowly till lungs, heart and all inside is filled with Light. Then legs, knees, ankles, feet and again into the ground. Stae that you are filled with healing energy, love and light and warmth and that you will accept the blessings of the universe. 5 minutes.

8. Let all students strecht their hands above the head, in front of them and let them know this is their auric field and that this field will now be filled by the Reiki Light. All layers from above the head, back, front, around the legs and also under the feet will be a bowl (balloon) of Light filled with the healing Light of Reiki. 5 minutes.

9. All students have to keep their eyes closed and all will breath in Light and breath out Light. This is to charge up the body for what healings you will be doing on eachother after the starting excersizes. 3 minutes.

10. Enjoy the warmth, the feeling of the sun, the Light, Reiki and slowly bring back the students : take them back in steps. Let them stamp their feet a few times, clap the hands, and rub their own body. Stretch.

11. For a group it is very good to stay in the circle and show eachother your backs. Now give the person in front of you a short massage in the shoulders and neck. Rub the back of the person in front of you. Then let all people make half a turn and massage the person on the other side the same way.

Let them stay where they are and explain the next step in your program. Which can be hands-on healings, sharing experiences from the week before and so on. 3-5 minutes.

First few times it takes either longer or much shorter, a lot of people get used to the needed routine after a few classes.
